Don’t forget these when contacting vendors!

How to contact your wedding photographer

It’s so exciting to finally start reaching out to your wedding dream team!!! However, to save you some time, these are the things you should include in your email:

  1. Your date

  2. You AND your fiance’s name

  3. Your venue

  4. What services you’re interested in

  5. Details about your wedding (or you two!)

With this info, your photographer will be able to give you the exact information you’re looking for without exchanging more emails and taking up time! Think about what the vendors will need to know: a caterer will need to know head count and how many courses, a makeup artist will need to know how many girls they’re going to work on and where, a florist will need to know what kind of arrangements you’re looking for (bouquet, boutonnieres, wristlets for the mothers, reception tables, cocktail hour, ceremony or not, etc)….

Use this as a template for your wedding inquiry emails!

Hi,

My fiancé Joe Shmo and I am getting married on June 28th, 2018 at The Ritz Carlton in Boston, MA. You came highly recommended by Kathy & Mark, and we think that your style is exactly what we were envisioning for our wedding photos.

We’re planning an elegant, black tie wedding – but there will be a dessert truck at the end of the night, too! 🙂 We love a classy party, but we’re not afraid to be silly either.

We’re interested in an engagement shoot as well as your full wedding pricing info.

Thanks so much, I look forward to speaking with you!

– Happy couple
