Castle Hill at Crane Estate
The Crane Estate sits upon a 2,100 acre plot of land overlooking the ocean in Ipswich, Massachusetts. This former summer home was re-built into a Stuart style 59 room mansion complete with two gardens, rolling hills, and all the fairytale details you could imagine.
A ROYAL PARADISE
Guests drive up a long, winding road to a parking lot at the top of Castle Hill - and see this view! This is the front of the mansion, and a taste of the elegance to come.
Every nook and cranny of Crane Estate has something historic to show. From garden sculptures to brickwork to antique paintings, this mansion provides so many incredible photo ops!
The spacious second floor bridal suite is full of gorgeous antique china, a vintage canopy bed, 10 foot windows, and the most adorable bathroom. You and your bridal party will feel like royalty!
Both the back gardens and front of the house are perfect for portraits. The front of the house looks out onto the beautiful marshes by the sea, and the back is a European courtyard fit for a king and queen.
Walk down the lawn and past the giant chess set to capture stunning bridal party photographs in the Grand Allee - grand arches, perfectly manicured topiaries, and lots of green grass await you!
Give this ocean view ceremony an extra touch with some floral arrangements! You'll walk from the house and down the aisle to say "I do!"
The Italian garden
The Italian Garden and the Rose Garden are gems of Crane Estate. During your portraits, take a short walk through the trees to unveil this European marvel that is the Italian Garden! Colorful flowers, a fountain, and wrought iron gates are here to swoon.
There is a tent connected to the side of the mansion, which is where dinner will be served! These gold chandeliers and warmly lit candles give this wedding an extra regal touch.
Cocktail hour takes place on the back steps of the house overlooking the Grand Allee and the ocean. You can serve up New England favorites like oysters, clam dip, and some sweet champagne as you mingle with your guests.
Dinner is held underneath the tent attached to the side of the house. You'll enjoy a meal, then have your first dance up a few stairs onto a "stage" so all your guests can see you. This is also where cake, coffee, and dessert is served.
Dancing can either be held in the tent or inside the house. If you're holding it inside, consider investing in uplighting to transform the historic mansion into party central!
