"The word 'romance,' according to the dictionary, means excitement, adventure, and something extremely real. Romance should last a lifetime."
I'm here celebrating 52 weeks of shooting the everyday with purpose, 52 weeks, which sounds like a short amount of time, but feels like an eternity, 52 weeks of ups and downs and worldwide adventures, 52 weeks of what it means to walk in my shoes.
I've been in Chicago starting a new sort of adventure. I got on a plane by myself with butterflies in my stomach, knowing where I was going was where I wanted to be. I also started shooting large format 4x5 -- the newest endeavor of photographic suffering/happiness.
I've learned during these 52 weeks that life will throw curveballs at you when you expect them the least. Good and bad - mostly bad, but a few of those balls you'll catch and feel rather accomplished.
My work has taken such a different direction being at art school, and as conflicting as it is inside of me over the big debate whether to post all my nudes that I'm oh so in love with, if I'm going to offend clients, all that jazz... I feel like I've begun to hit that happy middle ground where I'm finding a balance. But take it from me:
Pleasing everyone is a full time job.
But I sit here and reflect on what a crazy, wild year it has been to be 19/20 years old in this city, happy endings, exciting new beginnings, traveling around the country and overseas, and being eager and longing to learn new things and see new places.
