A rustic Ruddy Turnstone Inn wedding on Cape Cod

"Crazy, he calls me, sure I'm crazy... crazy in love, you see"

On a 75 degree Saturday, light clouds rolled in and out of the harbor as the seabreeze filled our noses with the sweet smell of salt. Cape Cod is a magical place, as everyone who has vacationed there can attest to. Laura & Alex grew up on the Cape, and first met going to local music shows. After losing touch and moving to Boston after a few years, fate brought them back together, and a romance blossomed. Alex asked Laura to be his wife while they were vacationing on Captiva Island in Florida, and finally, the day had come.

Everything about the day was true to the personalities of Laura & Alex - Laura’s dazzling shoes with Dutch dolls for heels, macarons flown in from France, a natural pine wood ceremony arch, rustic barrels filled with flowers, mini succulent escort cards, family style reception seating, watercolor and lace bridesmaids dresses, vintage decor, and more. Wrapped around Laura’s colorful bouquet was her grandmother’s jewelry and a swatch of fabric from her grandfather’s shirt. Laura met Alex at the ceremony, both shedding tears. The love was overwhelming.

The reception was wonderfully laid back, with guests gathering to hang out in Adirondack chairs on the lawn, dancing with the family, eating cake and salt water taffy from Laura’s mother’s 1856 Country Store in Centerville, and socializing with all their friends and family. The couple headed off to an afterparty before jetting off to their Bermudan honeymoon!

Laura & Alex - I hope your love continues to grow deeper every day, that you lift each other up when you are down, and that you let those famous giggles ring through your house until you’re old and grey.

Macy & Jordan // An elegant Cambridge wedding

"My heart is ever at your service."

-William Shakespeare

Macy & Jordan are your go-to classic Cambridge couple. This cat loving, food truck loving, laid back pair is certifiably awesome.

Unknowingly attending the same concert in Washington of all places in 2003, their paths crossed officially in 2013 as they shared a cocktail on their first date. At the site of their first kiss, Jordan proposed to Macy and the rest is history! Living in the great city of Cambridge, and with familial ties to Boston as well, it was only natural to be wed at the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, one of the oldest and most prestigious honorary societies in the country (founded by John Adams and John Hancock, of course).

Macy is the 21st, yes 21st woman in her family to wear this veil down the aisle; a family heirloom introduced over 130 years ago in 1882. Delicate, beautiful, and brimming with significance. A predicted stormy day yielded sunshine, and the two vowed to love each other for the rest of their lives in front of all their family and friends. They danced and ate cake (at their Cambridge neighborhood themed tables) and we all were blown away by Macy’s Dad’s stellar dance moves.

I must say, it’s pretty awesome when your bride & groom are connected with you on Facebook, Twitter, AND Instagram… I knew that when I posted a sneak peek, Jordan at least would see it right away. I love staying connected with my couples!

Another shoutout - to my AMAZING second shooter Jenny Watts! She always kills it! Much love and thanks!!!

Wishing the new Mr. & Mrs. Vance a life filled with lots of great cheese, many more marathons, delicious pizza, and a garden full of herbs and love. XOX!

Jess & Chris // A rustic barn wedding

"We love the things we love for what they are."

Jessica & Christopher are really just professional lovebirds.

Chris can make Jess smile so big, her nose scrunches up and she can’t stop giggling. Chris is always there for Jess, on good days or bad, to provide a warm hug or a laugh. On this rainy forecasted Saturday in August, Jess & Chris basked in the sunshine underneath their alter adorned with yellow flowers, confessed their love for each other and vowed to be soulmates for the rest of their lives. They celebrated with their family and friends, and stole kisses and held hands as they danced in the open pasture. Jess made almost every detail and decoration you see in the photographs -what a talented lady! Their rustic barn wedding fit their personality as a couple perfectly, and they (and grandma!) danced the night away. At the end of the night, instead of a sparkler exit, they received an epic lightning storm and pouring rain - a seriously nod from Mother Nature wishing them good luck!

Sweet really is an understatement to describe this couple - and I have no doubt that their marriage will be filled with so much optimism, joy, and love.

Hugs and kisses, Jess & Chris!
