Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Weather.com. The forecast for Lorie & Anthony’s weekend wedding was looking dismal. Pouring rain, 90-100% chance, from 1pm-10pm. It was a very sad week, thinking about their beautiful venue in the Berkshires being spoiled by rain and thunderstorms.
I prepared regardless with some umbrellas and brought along my lovely assistant for support, Jenny.
Wedding day, driving a few hours into the mountains. It was sunny… I told Jenny over and over, “It’s not raining Jenny.” At the hotel, I was just overjoyed to see Lorie and spend some time with her and her adorable pup, too. It poured while the sun shined. As it was time to finally put her dress on and leave for the country club, it showered once more, the last one of the day.
Her ceremony arch and decorations were all moved inside, but us girls insisted on an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful weather. We scrambled, wiping down chairs with rags as the Berkshires were the only backdrop for the ceremony. And boy, was it plenty. The two were married in the sunshine, with the most incredible mountains behind them, surrounded by their family and friends.
Portraits were SO much fun with these two… how could they not be? I just adore Lorie & Anthony, and we were just slap happy from the lack of rain, the excitement of finally being married, and the beauty of the landscape that the angry rolling clouds couldn’t even phase us if they tried.
The floor to ceiling windows inside the country club were amazing - talk about a stunning place. The two were thoughtful enough to put Jenny and I at a real table, with real place cards with our name on them, gave us Limoncello as favors, and we got all the courses of dinner (vendors normally only get the main course if they don’t run out, so no salad, pasta, and sometimes chicken fingers if they run out… ah!). It was such a nice thing for them to do, and we had a blast dancing at the reception, high-fiving Lorie & Anthony’s dads… I just can’t express enough how amazing it was to work with everyone there. The next day, Anthony surprised Lorie with a honeymoon to Aruba… he’s a keeper!
Wishing L&A the HAPPIEST marriage. You two are amazing.
