Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...It's about learning to dance in the rain
Ah, Matt & Melissa. My favorite lovies, the people I get way too freakishly excited to see. That, folks, is the true definition of clients turned friends.
Let's rewind - M&M were the GORGEOUS couple in the field last year - remember?
Fast forward, and their wedding date is finally coming up soon, so it was wedding shower time! Melissa's mother hosted the celebration at one of my favorite locations in the world - Gibbet Hill Grill. This barn turned restaurant serves the most amazing farm to fork cuisine, and next door is The Barn at Gibbet Hill, where I've shot a full wedding before. The rolling green hills seriously look like Ireland when you squint, and the food is to die for.
And of course, it's not called a shower for nothing - it happened to be pouring outside.
The little details everywhere were amazing - white glazed mason jars filled with baby roses tied with twine, M&M vintage metal letters, "You & I" and "Us & We" pink wooden phrases, a big LOVE pillow, wire baskets, framed photos from their lovely engagement shoot, and the best part, little custom stamped pillows with love sayings on them that were hand stitched by Melissa's mom.
Everyone enjoyed the food, the laughter during the gift opening ("Wine glasses! More wine glasses! Margarita glasses! A mixology book! I think people are getting the wrong idea about me...") and the cupcakes at the end. For the grand finale, all the girls (and Matt!) braved the nasty, chilly rain and broke out their umbrellas for some good fun.
