Joanna & Ryan. Where do I start?
I met this amazingly sweet couple last fall, and I knew we were a perfect fit. Their sunrise engagement session was stunning, and after waiting through the holidays and the long winter, their big day FINALLY rolled around!
April 12th, 2014... 70 degrees, sunny, blue skies; simply beautiful. I couldn't believe how perfect the weather was. I mean, it's May right now, and it's 45 and rainy & gross. They deserved nothing but a perfect day, and a perfect day is what they got.
I drove up to the venue through a grove of perfectly planted trees arching towards each other, and got a look at the beautiful historical house and grounds. I was psyched. The Pierce House was a dream come true - antique, beautiful, classic, filled with light, and every room in that house was just begging for exploration.
I spent the morning with the girls getting ready, attached at the hip to the box of munchkins of course, swooning over Joanna's dress and floral arrangements and hairpiece and everything! The boys got ready in this wonderfully manly room (it was perfect!) and hooked on their fabulous suspenders (I'm a sucker for anything suspenders or bow ties). Everyone was so lovely - family, friends, the whole shebang.
Fast forward through a happily tearful ceremony and a pretty important kiss, and the new Mr. & Mrs. Farrell wrote the first page of their new life together! Hooray!
The reception was held in front of the house in a tent, and lunch was served - it was delicious. Chicken, steak, potatoes, veggies, all grilled, then spring strawberry salad, followed by the best cupcakes and a candy bar where I took way too many gummy bears and Lake Champlain milk chocolates for my own good :) Deja Blu & Bella Cakes, you're fantastic.
Ryan is a dispatcher for the Lincoln PD - so naturally, all his co-workers were there - a lively bunch to say the least. I had SO much fun hanging out with them all, and nothing makes me feel like a badass more than getting my picture taken with Joanna on one of the police cars. They turned the lights on when Ryan handcuffed his new bride, laughing hysterically - I was having even more fun than the ring bearer and flower girl.
I could go on for a page and a half about all the cool little touches and things that happened that day, but I'll leave it up to the photos to tell the rest!
