A springtime Boston City Hall + Beacon Hill elopement

“The greatest marriages are built on teamwork. A mutual respect, a healthy dose of admiration, and a never-ending portion of love and grace.”

Katie and Brett had a big day planned. A classic, huge wedding on a farm, complete with a barn, a Doctor Who theme, and 150 guests. Until they scrapped it all.

Katie & Brett traded in their traditional wedding (and the crazy amount of stress that goes hand in hand with planning such an event) and decided to elope instead.

They met four years ago through work in Providence, RI, and after sharing their mutual love of Doctor Who, all things history related, and good food, the rest was history. As Katie says, “Brett is the 'guru' in our relationship - he's the one who's methodical and likes to think things through. I, on the other hand, am impatient and stubborn. We balance each other out well.”

With huge smiles across their faces, on April 1st, Katie & Brett vowed to love each other for richer or poorer, sickness and health in front of their parents at the City Hall of their favorite city - Boston.

The forecast predicted a day of rain, but instead, right after their “I do’s”, the temperature rose to 70 degrees and the same came galloping out from behind the clouds. They popped champagne on a rooftop downtown, ooh-ed and ahh-ed at the amazing views, then we scooted over to walk the cobblestone streets of Beacon Hill before meeting up with family at the Common. The next day, they jetted off to Iceland, Amsterdam and Berlin.

Wishing Katie & Brett, two of the sweetest and most fun people I’ve ever had the honor of meeting, an incredible marriage full of love and laughter. XO
